How to get here

Arriving to Ljubljana

By air

To get to Ljubljana, the place where most of our tours start, fly via a major European hub (London, Paris, Frankfurt, etc.), then take Adria Airways, Slovenia's national carrier. There are other airlines that fly to Ljubljana; find the full list HERE.

You can check the following websites for online flight bookings:

By train or shuttle van

Alternatively, you can fly to Venice, Munich or Vienna and take a train to Ljubljana. This is a good alternative if you would like to spend some time visiting these cities before or after the tour.

Venice, Italy (250km/150mi from Ljubljana):
The best way to get from Venice to Ljubljana is a shuttle van. You can choose between two companies; DRD and Go Opti.

DRD is a Slovenian Bus Line between Ljubljana and Venice airport & Mestre. Mestre is a town on the mainland next to Venice (Venice is basically an island). DRD has a fixed schedule and price (25 EUR one way). It waits on the parking outside the airport.

Go Opti transfers combine maximum number of people travelling in the same direction at similar times in one van. Departure times are not fixed and depend on arrivals of passengers. Between May and October they have around 10-15 departures daily.
The price is confirmed at the time of booking (around 25 – 30 EUR) while the exact departure time is only confirmed and fixed 24h before departure. Your maximum waiting time is 3h but on average waiting time is 1h.

Munich, Germany (450km/ 280mi from LJubljana)
Go Opti (see description above) serves Munich downtown and airport too but not as often as Venice. Average waiting time is longer.

Train: From Munich airport you'll need to take a local train to downtown Munich (45 min). From there you can take a train to Ljubljana. It costs around 80 EUR one way, with duration of 6- 6,5 hours. There are 4 trains daily. Chech schedule HERE

From Vienna (Austria), Zagreb (Croatia), Budapest (Hungary), Zurich (Switzerland) you can reach Ljubljana by train and in some cases with Go Opti. For train connections you can also see Slovenian Railways website.
