Adriatic Riviera Tour
Croatia, Slovenia

This tour is a great way to start or finish the season. On the Adriatic coast, summer begins early and ends late. Temperatures are perfect, roads are empty, and the beaches are not packed with tourists. All this combined makes Croatia's azure coast perfect for riding.

A tour for serious riders as well as connoisseurs of culture and history, this adventure includes 2 nights in both Dubrovnik and Hvar, which are worth a voyage across the Atlantic all by themselves. This spectacular mix of coastal and mountain riding, crystal-clear seas, delicious Mediterranean food, unspoiled fishing villages, beaches, medieval walled cities, Roman ruins and lush islands make Croatia traveler's paradise.

Day
1

Arrive in Ljubljana , do some introductory riding and meet for welcome dinner.

Day
2

Cruising through the pristine forests of southeast Slovenia, we arrive at UNESCO's Plitvice lakes. In Plitvice National Park, sixteen little lakes interconnected with waterfalls created by deposition of travertine, a special kind of limestone, constitute the main attraction of this unique park.

Day
3 - 4

Our second riding day in Croatia snakes south passing the dryer moon-like surface of the Biokovo mountains towards Dubrovnik, the city of world-famous cultural heritage and beauty. Take a walk on top of Dubrovnik's thick stone walls, stroll marble-paved squares, steep cobbled streets and Placa, or go for a ride to Montenegro. Also very interesting is a full day boat trip to Mljet Island, which of all Adriatic islands may be the most seductive.

Day
5 - 6

We continue our ride through southern Dalmatia, the most beautiful part of the Adriatic coast. Rich vegetation, beautiful lakes, rare islands, white pebble beaches and the crystal clear sea, all make this region to an unforgettable experience for every visitor. You can stop in Ston, famous for its defensive wall, the longest fortification in Europe, and the best seafood in Croatia. A short ferry ride will get us to Hvar Island, where we'll ride the twistiest road of the whole trip. Called the "Croatian Medeira", Hvar each year receives more hours of sunshine than any other place in the country. Yet the island is luxuriantly green, with brilliant patches of lavender, rosemary and heather.

Day
7

Roman history buffs will want to visit the historic town of Saloma and Diocletian's Palace in Split on the way to Pag Island. A barren, rocky island with no trees, little vegetation, no rivers or streams, Pag nonetheless has a stark, ethereal beauty enhanced by a highly original culture.

Day
8

Our seaside roller coaster ride continues along a narrow strip of land bound by imposing mountains and rugged coastline. The scenery here is truly remarkable when you have the Adriatic Sea on one side and the steep hillsides of Velebit mountain range on the other. Winding through pristine forests of Lika we'll ride back to Slovenia, visit a couple of picturesque castles on the way, and reach Ljubljana in the afternoon. There you will spend your last night to muse and remember all that you've witnessed on the adventure.

Day
9

Stroll through the narrow streets of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, before heading out to the airport.
