Back in Slovenia we overnight in a friendly small hotel in Jeruzalem, surrounded by vineyards.

Our second riding day takes us through numerous vineyards and lush green forests of eastern Slovenia before arriving to Otocec castle, which is one of Slovenia's loveliest and most complete fortresses. Today the castle, which dates from the 16th century, houses a five-star hotel.

A boat trip to the beautiful island of Susak is a great option for the rest day.
