Matej has a degree in Marketing from the University of Ljubljana and has been riding motorcycles for 25 years. He has been guiding tours since the company's inception fourteen years ago. Peter Čerček

Tour Designer & Guide

Željka joined AMT after 15 years of business experience in different areas.

10 years of multinational marketing and sales gave her a push to become her own boss and jumped into the sea of French pastry, pralines and chocolate. Travelling and working with Michelin restaurants are her most interesting experiences. After five years of developing her own brand, she learned the most valuable lesson: "more business, less creativity". She decided to make a switch – once more. She retired from kitchen and made a perfect combination: the right measure of business and creativity – so she joined AMT team. Preparing tours, communicating with hotels, and enjoying international environment, make her day interesting.

Niko joined us because he loves the adventure.

Since his early ages, he was discovering the beauty of motorcycles. His early days of an off road racing later evolved into his main passion - motorcycle travel. Living in Portugal, Western Africa and travelling most parts of the world, he has learned many languages, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish among them. In his free time, he likes to relax and read, practice a variety of extreme sports or simply grab his motorcycle and ride it into the horizon. Niko's favorite countries to visit are Italy and Czech Republic because of the beautiful scenery and great food.

  • In my home garage: Kawasaki KLX 650, Honda CB 500, Tomos APN4

Luka has been working as a tour guide for 12 years and has always been keen on motorbikes and cars.

Some day he got a call from AMT, and it seemed like a dream came true. Working in tourism combining it with the passion for motorbikes - what more can one want? He lives 100 km away from Venice and knows Italy very well. Italy is also his favorite country in which to travel; speaking fluent Italian makes it easier for him to understand their way of living and the culture. He also speaks English, French, Spanish, Croatian and Serbian. When he is not riding, he is skiing or playing tennis.

Matej grew up in a small town near Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana. Beautiful scenery overlooking the mountains drew him to mountain biking as a hobby.

Being a tourist guide for the last 10 years, joining AMT seemed like a next logical step forward combining his second hobby - leading motorcycle tours in Europe. When Matej is not guiding motorcycle tours for us, he is likely to be found on a challenging enduro or downhill mountain bike trail here or in some other part of the world.

  • Education: Construction engineer
  • Languages: Slovenian, English
  • In my home garage: 2 mountain bicycles
  • Hobbies: Travelling, skiing, hiking, extreme sports

Beside motorcycles he loves old V8 cars and also has a strong bond with aviation. He enjoys everything that runs on petrol. He's always engaged in new things and likes diversity. No wonder his field of work covers everything from IT and telecommunications, aviation, and marketing, as well as guiding for AMT. After his travels he always likes returning back home - to the capital of the "chicken" country – Ljubljana.

Rok Borštnik

Tomaž started riding quite late, at the age of 26.

Because his mother was afraid of bikes, he made it a top secret mission to apply for a driving license when officially he was taking dance classes. He has been working as a tour guide from his early twenties, combining big bus tours around Europe and taking small group tours overseas. Tomaž has been with AMT since 2012. Unfortunately, his full time job in a hospital doesn't allow for more than a few tours a year.

  • Education: Physical Education professor, Radiology engineer
  • Languages: Slovenian, English, German, Serbian, Croatian
  • In my home garage: BMW R1200GS Adventure
  • Hobbies: running, cycling, kite surfing, skiing, hiking, reading
  • Favorite Tour: Beautiful Balkans Adventure
  • Top rest day: Corvara, Dolomites
  • When I grow up... I will win the race of Isle of Man and ride around the world.

Travel has been an intrinsic part of his life ever since he can remember.

From a young age he has always been intrigued by the endless possibilities of new places; every trip revealed new horizons, a complete mystery to him at the time. Growing up he would often hop on his bike and let the road take him to different places, different worlds. When he started working as a tourist guide he was completely taken over by this job. Despite taking the same roads over and over again, he could find excitement and inspiration in all of his journeys. Joining AMT team as a tour guide was a step forward combining two of his big passions: travelling and motorcycle riding. Or as Boris likes to say, he now lives the life by the words of Henry Miller: One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.

  • Education: Master of andragogy
  • Languages: Slovenian, English, Croatian, Serbian
  • In my home garage: BMW R 1200 GS
  • Hobbies: sport shooting, skiing, mountaineering, carpentry
  • Favorite Tour: Top of the Alps
  • Top rest day: ride over Swiss passes
  • When I grow up... I will learn to play the violin.

Rok and his friends were fixing old mopeds in his home garage, which is how he started riding motorcycles at age twelve.

Since then he has explored the world on two wheels. Starting with Slovenia on his Yamaha DT125, he fanned out into neighboring countries on bigger and bigger bikes until he settled on a BMW 1150GSA. Then Rok rode South, Central and North America for a year, during which his passion for riding only grew stronger. To pursue his dream he became a tour guide for Adriatic Moto Tours, and he has been with the team since 2013. Rok has also discovered a love for video production. He can't get away from his cameras even when he is riding. That is why you will most likely meet him with a camera on top of his helmet.

From the moment he took his first steps, he started skiing, and then he got into biking.

At the age of 15, he bought his first moped, and since then, he's been on a motorcycling high. As a student, he began working as a guide in Greece, and that's when his addiction to it started. Five years ago, he started organizing tours with AMT, and he's hooked on it. His full-time job is in his family company, so he only has time for two or three tours per year. He's frustrated that on the visa form, you can't check both 'Business' and 'Pleasure.'

Three kids were more important than twisty Slovenian roads but in the last 10 years, he is catching up on lost kilometres as much as he can. Luckily his wife is riding as a passenger with him. They cruised through almost all of Italy, the Alps and the Balkans. He is not trying to hide his police / military education and is very proud if riders feel safe with him. As an active NCO in the Slovenian Armed Forces, since 2017, he takes his leave of absence to work for AMT, to be with riders as a guide on a motorcycle or in the van.

Tomaž Žust

Guide

Tomaž started riding quite late, at the age of 26.

Because his mother was afraid of bikes, he made it a top secret mission to apply for a driving license when officially he was taking dance classes. He has been working as a tour guide from his early twenties, combining big bus tours around Europe and taking small group tours overseas. Tomaž has been with AMT since 2012. Unfortunately, his full time job in a hospital doesn't allow for more than a few tours a year.

Boris Klančnik

Guide

  • In my home garage: BMW R 1200 GS
  • Hobbies: sport shooting, skiing, mountaineering, carpentry

Rok Borštnik

Guide & Video Production

  • In my home garage: BMW R 1150 GS Adventure
  • Hobbies: travelling, film making, photography, karate, cleaning my front brake calipers

Milko Mati

Guide

From the moment he took his first steps, he started skiing, and then he got into biking.

At the age of 15, he bought his first moped, and since then, he's been on a motorcycling high. As a student, he began working as a guide in Greece, and that's when his addiction to it started. Five years ago, he started organizing tours with AMT, and he's hooked on it. His full-time job is in his family company, so he only has time for two or three tours per year. He's frustrated that on the visa form, you can't check both 'Business' and 'Pleasure.'

  • In my home garage: Ducati Hypermotard, KTM SX, Vespas, Cobra...
  • Hobbies: motocross, skiing, mountain biking
